It was 10 years ago on this day, September 2nd 2002 that the World Heavyweight Championship was introduced on Monday Night Raw. Eric Bischoff handed the belt to Triple H. Moments later Ric Flair came out and contested the “handing” of the belt to Hunter, and suggested he needs to earn the belt. Bischoff agreed and the main event for that evening was Triple H Vs. Ric Flair for the World Heavyweight Championship.
